Müzik Hackathon 2025

Müzik Hackathon 2025 Wrapped Up

Applications for Müzik Hackathon 2025 opened on 1 September and closed on 15 October. After the review process, the bands selected to compete were announced on 17 October through the Müzik Hackathon social media accounts.

Müzik Hackathon 2025 kicked off at Atmosfer Bosna on 24 October at 8:00 p.m. This year’s theme, “From Roots to the Horizon,” was revealed to the participants during the opening programme.

Working with that theme, the bands were asked to create contemporary, original pieces drawing on our cultural memory, on melodies handed down through the generations, on local musical elements and on their own musical background.

Once the theme was announced, the selected bands began a 42-hour creative sprint. So that they could work without interruption, the organisers provided everything they needed: workspaces, technical equipment, instruments and production facilities, as well as their basic day-to-day needs.

Working in their own dedicated spaces at Atmosfer Bosna, the bands completed composition, lyric writing, arrangement, rehearsal and stage preparation within 42 hours, producing original songs built around the theme “From Roots to the Horizon.”

At the end of the 42-hour marathon, the finished songs took the stage at the closing event, where each band performed live for the jury and the audience. The jury then announced the winning bands and presented their awards.

Müzik Hackathon 2025 was a wide-ranging music marathon that brought young musicians together in a shared creative space, giving them the chance to reinterpret a musical heritage passed down through generations in today’s creative language, to create original work and to gain real stage experience.
